Introduction to Bowtie: Methodology and Structure (in German)
Do you know your risk? Are your safeguards in place? Are they auditable? To help you with this matter, we would like to invite you to this cost-free technical webinar. This course provides training on the Bowtie methodology of risk analysis that depicts causal relationship in high risk scenarios. It provides a visual representation of all likely incident scenarios around a hazard and identifies the safeguards that a company could use to control those scenarios. The participants will learn the fundamentals of the methodology and how to build up high-quality Bowties.

16-19.06.2019 | Loss Prevention 2019 (NL)
The 16th International Symposium on Loss Prevention and Safety Promotion in the Process Industries took place in Delft, the Netherlands (June 16th to 19th). TÜV SÜD Process Safety was there and presented the latest developments regarding test equipment, e.g. a new DLC (diamond like carbon) crucible for DSC measurements, an upgrade of the MIE (minimum ignition energy) test apparatus for measurements under non-atmospheric conditions, as well as a CPVT (closed pressure vessel test) for screening of potential explosives.

Our expert Coen van Driel took an active part in the 15th Global Congress on Process Safety on April 3rd with a presentation about “High performance in process safety – going beyond compliance.” Introducing a high-performance process safety culture in which people are actively managing the risks and aware of where they stand regarding best practices. A culture of continuous challenge of the current procedures and behaviours, trying to identify blind spots; in which competency development is not seen as a cost but as core to make the experience driven journey to high-performance culture a success ; in which balanced leadership creates an environment of proactively managed risks, ensured by keeping the balance, focus, rhythm, and discipline.
